M6 Family:

  • Price range: $2,220-3,618
  • Average: $2,777 (down 3.0% from peak)
  • 11 sales suggesting some market cooling after explosive growth

  • M7: $3,100-3,989, averaging $3,658 (down 1.9%)

1. The M2 is a Sleeper Hit

M2 prices jumped 17.3%, the highest increase among film bodies. While most people have their eyes on M6 prices, collectors are quietly recognizing the M2's simplicity and unfiltered experience. It's a film M body for photographers who actually shoot film.

2. The Less-Is-More Description Effect

Short, confident titles (≤60 characters) averaged $3,545 while verbose descriptions (61-90 characters) averaged $3,034—a 16.8% penalty for over-explaining. Sellers who let the camera speak for itself often outperform those who oversell with lengthy descriptions. Sometimes "Leica M6 - Excellent" beats "Beautiful Leica M6 35mm Film Camera in Excellent Working Condition with Original Everything."
