Hidden Market Trends
- The Early Week Advantage: Our analysis continues to confirm that Mondays and Tuesdays are the best days for buyers. Sales completed on Tuesdays averaged 50.4% lower than on other days of the week, with particularly significant savings on M10 Series models. This week we observed Tuesday transactions averaging just $2,440 compared to the weekly average of $3,350. This trend has remained consistent over several months, suggesting strategic buyers should focus their purchasing activity early in the week.
- The "Box Premium" Effect: Original packaging continues to command a substantial premium in the Leica marketplace. Our data shows that cameras sold with their original boxes fetched, on average, 23.1% higher prices than equivalent models without boxes. This premium applies consistently across both digital and film cameras, and interestingly, even boxes with visible wear or damage still provide significant value enhancement. For sellers, this reinforces the importance of retaining all original packaging materials.
- Platform Consistency: Unlike previous weeks, where we observed significant price disparities between platforms, this week showed remarkable pricing consistency. eBay sales averaged $3,434 while Fred Miranda transactions averaged $3,283—a difference of less than 5%. This suggests the market is becoming more efficient and transparent. One notable distinction: higher-value rarities and limited editions were still primarily found on eBay, while Fred Miranda continued to be the preferred platform for enthusiast-to-enthusiast transactions.

Leica M10 Monochrom
